Postdoctoral Position in Aerosols, Chemistry and Health

A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the University of California at Los Angeles Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences in Prof. S.R. Paulson’s group. The successful candidate will have latitude to focus on cloudwater processes or human health, or a combination of both, according to the successful candidate’s interests and evolving needs. The research will investigate relationships between reactive oxygen species formation and aerosol chemical composition including experimental investigation of the underlying aqueous chemistry, biological assays, model development, and relationships with health, in the lab, field and/or as part of collaborations. The position is initially for one year and may be renewed.

Requirement: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field by the time of the appointment, as well as highly effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a research team. Familiarity with aerosol instrumentation field work, model development and/or biochemical techniques is highly desirable. Title and salary will be commensurate with experience, within the flexibility of the funding sources.  UCLA offers excellent benefits.
